What's the difference between a convertible helper tower and a foldable learning tower? The quick answer is that the convertible tower can turn into a table with a bench, while the foldable toddler tower can fold up. Both types of learning towers share many similarities. However, which is best for you?

What is a Kitchen Helper Tower?

A helper tower, also known as a learning tower, is a step stool designed for young children. People often use this stool in the kitchen so that young children can reach countertops and the kitchen sink. However, toddler towers are also ideal for use in the bathroom and other areas around the house.

Many children love to help in the kitchen by chopping vegetables or stirring batter. A toddler tower provides the boost children need to participate while keeping them safe. A bar at the back of the tower helps prevent children from falling.

5 Differences Between Piccalio's Convertible and Foldable Kitchen Towers

Before we dive into the differences, we'll cover the similarities. Both are equally sturdy and safe. Our towers are made of FSC-certified birch plywood and New Zealand pine wood.

We use a water based finish that is non toxic on all our products. Additionally, our towers are Greenguard Gold Certified, meaning they keep your indoor air quality safe. Both are also easy to clean. Simply wipe the tower down with a damp cloth.

Inspired by the Montessori philosophy, both towers offer your family many opportunities for learning and fun. Try cooking some fun and healthy recipes with your toddler. Or, enjoy sensory activities at the sink with either tower.

Now, we'll explore the differences between our Convertible Helper Tower and our Foldable Helper Tower.

1. The Convertible Turns into a Table and Chair

In a few simple steps, you can turn the convertible tower into a child-sized table and stool. After making a snack, simply unhook the metal clasps and fold the tower over. Hook the other clasp below, and now you have a table. Your child can sit on the small bench available at one end.

This multifunctional feature means your child can sit independently at a table that's just their size.

The foldable tower does not have this feature. If you'd like to offer a dedicated child-sized table, try our Play Table and Reversible Chair Set.

2. The Foldable Helper Tower Folds for Easy Storage

Tuck the foldable tower out of the way after use. Folding the tower is easy and involves one simple movement. Ideal for small kitchens, you can get the tower out and put it away in seconds.

The foldable feature is also excellent for moving the helper tower around the house. Move it to the bathroom, outdoors, and anywhere you need it.

3. Use the Foldable Helper Tower as a Step Stool

Our foldable tower is adult-friendly. When you need a leg up into high cabinets, simply step up. Just move the back bar straight up to make an adult step stool.

4. The Foldable Helper Tower has an Adjustable Standing Platform

Adjust the standing platform as your child grows. The tower features three height options, at 17.72 inches, 15 inches, and 12.6 inches. As your child gets taller, lower the platform height.

5. The Convertible Helper Tower Has an Adjustable Step

You can't adjust the platform height of the convertible tower. However, you can adjust the step height. The three options include 6 inches,  8 inches, and 10 inches. Adjusting the step also changes the seat height when the tower is set up as a table.

Offer the Benefits of a Helper Tower to Your Little One

While teaching your toddler to use a wooden knife, your little one will build important fine motor skills and self-confidence. While cooking, your child can learn about math and science. Plus, did you know that when children help prepare food, they're more likely to eat vegetables?

A kitchen helper tower can open a world of possibilities for your little one, no matter which model you choose. Which tower do you like the most, the Convertible or the Foldable Helper Tower? Let us know in the comments below.
