At Piccalio, we make safe and sustainable furniture that's good for you, your family, and the planet. Every promise we make is backed up by certifications that guarantee quality, safety, and our commitment to the environment.

We know that reading a list of certifications can be confusing. With so many certifications and promises made, what do all of them mean? Learn more about the certifications we hold, why they're important, and what they mean.

Our Safety and Sustainability Certifications

What do our certifications promise in relation to quality and safety? We believe in offering high-quality products that are made ethically, helping create a brighter future for the coming generations. Here's how we make that happen with testing and professional certifications for safety and sustainability.

Greenguard Gold Certification

One of the most stringent certifications, Greenguard Gold ensures products have minimal or zero volatile organic compounds or VOC emissions. VOCs are often found in varnishes, furniture glues, and finishes. UL Solutions, a third-party tester, tests certified products for over 15,000 chemicals. Approved products pass the most stringent emission standards.

Choosing Greenguard Gold Certified products contributes to better indoor air quality, creating a healthier environment for your little one to play and grow. Plus, products that are Greenguard Certified often use materials that are safer and cause less harm to the planet.

All our wooden products are Greenguard Gold Certified, meaning you can trust our products in your home.

GOTS-Certified

GOTS, or the Global Organic Textile Standard, certifies fabrics as organic. The organization uses third-party testing throughout processing to ensure items use a minimum of 70% organic fibers. Plus, GOTS also requires certified products to meet human rights criteria.

Our products that use textiles, such as our Play Mat, have obtained a GOTS certification.

FSC Wood

We use FSC wood in our wooden products. FSC, or the Forest Stewardship Council,  certifies wood that meets high standards for sustainability. Some requirements for FSC Certification include:

  • No deforestation
  • A safe and fair work environment for workers
  • Responsible forestry practices
  • Ensuring rights for local communities

California Prop 65

This California state law requires companies to notify customers if the product contains chemicals that may cause cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm. Our products don't contain any dangerous chemicals, keeping your family and indoor environment safe.

Intertek, SGS, and TUV Certified

These globally recognized certifications ensure our products meet strict standards. For both safety and sustainability, Intertek's, SGS’s, and TUV’s certification programs help consumers identify trustworthy products.

Each program uses third-party testing to approve products. That way, you can trust that when we say our products are safe, they truly are.

U.S. CPSC Safety Standards

The Consumer Product Safety Commission sets out standards for many products, including toys, furniture, cribs, and more. The standards help ensure products are safe for consumers. Plus, CPSC manages recalls for products that don't meet certification standards or may be dangerous.

Our products meet relevant CPSC safety standards.

ASTM

ASTM, Advancing Standards Transforming Markets, is a voluntary certification program. It establishes the highest standards of safety for various products. For example, ASTM F963 is a high standard for toy safety. This standard is required by the CPSC.

All our products meet relevant ASTM standards.

Our Promise

We promise that when you choose our products, you'll get an eco-friendly product made with ethically sourced building materials that's also safe for your little one. Our products won't release harmful chemical emissions, helping create healthier indoor air.
