Our responsibility
Nature is our greatest inspiration and we want to inspire people to live a more mindful and sustainable lifestyle. To us this means buying less, buying better and keeping things in use for longer. Designing durable, long-lasting products, ethically sourced and certified materials are how we minimize our environmental impact as much as possible.
Design philosophy
At Piccalio, we recognize the significance of designing with sustainability in mind. Our design process always begins with the question, "Does the world need this object?" If the answer is yes, then the idea of preserving and passing down kids' furniture and toys for generations to enjoy is at the heart of our design philosophy. We prioritize designs that are versatile and can grow with children, so they don't have to be replaced as they age.

Ethical production
We collaborate closely with some of the most skilled craftsmen in the industry. We produce limited quantities of our products and only increase production if there is sufficient demand. This approach leads to less waste, more intention in production, and conserves energy. As a result, we sometimes need to offer pre-orders, which refers to ordering a product before it is manufactured.
Finest materials
We carefully select ethically sourced, high-quality and FSC certified materials for all our products. Our wood is also treated with non-toxic, low-VOC finishes (extracted from cashew nuts!), ensuring that our furniture is safe for children and the environment.
Packaging
We are not perfect. We want to keep learning and find new ways to have a positive impact. It hasn't always been this way, but in 2023, we removed all styrofoam from packaging and replaced it with FSC-certified cardboard material. We continue to strive to find new ways for better, innovative materials that help our planet.
We heart trees
Giving back to the planet
A portion of our proceeds goes to One Tree Planted, an environmental non-profit tree-planting charity that plants trees in countries around the world.
