Play Mat

The Play Mat features three main pieces, all made of safe, non-toxic materials you can trust.

The Play Mat’s foam core is made from latex foam (sourced from natural rubber trees) and enclosed in a soft layer of cotton. The waterproof cover features an ultra-thin waterproof barrier of TPU sandwiched between two soft cotton layers, protecting the latex core from any spills or accidents. Featuring a two-sided design, the adorable outer cover is made of 100% GOTS Organic Cotton so your baby plays on only the safest of materials.

Our Play Mats do not use vinyl, phthalates, perfluorinated compounds (PFCs), polyurethane foam, EVA, formamide, or other harmful chemicals commonly found in baby mats. We are 100% committed to chemical safety.

We don't treat our play mats with any "protective" coatings (water resistance, stain repellent, etc.) — this avoids your baby coming in direct contact with harmful chemicals. No questionable waterproofing materials like vinyl, PVC, phthalates, or butane rubber.

Both the outer and inner (waterproof) covers are machine washable. Simply unzip the covers and throw them in the washing machine. The outer cover should be washed before the first use.

OUTER COVER: Machine wash cold with like colors. Delicate cycle. Tumble dry low, remove promptly. Low iron if needed.

WATERPROOF COVER: Machine wash cold with like colors. Delicate cycle. Hang to dry. Do NOT iron.

PLAY MAT CORE: Do NOT wash. Spot clean gently if needed.

The Piccalio Play Mat includes the latex core, a waterproof cover, an organic cotton outer cover, and a cotton tote. All covers are machine washable for easy cleaning.

Unlike standard foam mats made from synthetic EVA or PVC, the Piccalio Play Mat is crafted from natural latex sourced from rubber trees. Natural latex is inherently hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, and more breathable than petroleum-based foams. While synthetic foam mats can peel or off-gas harmful chemicals like formamide over time, our natural latex core provides a durable, non-toxic, and eco-friendly surface that is safer for your baby and the planet.
