A Montessori table is a child-sized table, typically made of natural wood. Dr. Montessori was one of the first people to create child-sized furniture.

She noticed children benefit from being able to arrange and use furniture independently.To use a Montessori table and chair the Montessori way, show your child how to pull out and push in the chair. Also, encourage your child to care for their space by putting art supplies, dishes, and/or toys away after using the table.

The best table shape for toddlers is a shape that makes it easy for them to work. Rectangles and squares are ideal shapes for toddler tables, as children can easily work on a drawing or read a book, lining up with the edge of the table. Also, these shapes make it easy to see where the chairs belong. Ultimately, any table shape works well for toddlers as long as the table height is comfortable and matches the chairs.

A weaning table is a small table designed for little ones who are starting to eat solid foods. An alternative to a high chair, typically, children transfer to a weaning table around 12 to 18 months. A weaning table can be worth it for many families, as this set-up fosters independence and facilitates peaceful mealtimes.

Toddlers can begin using a table around the time they can walk steadily. For most children, this is between 12 and 18 months of age. Getting your child a toddler table can boost independence and confidence. Toddlers often like to stand as they color, read, and play. Your child can stand at the toddler play table as they work.

Use a damp, clean cloth to wipe the surfaces. Slight maintenance may be required over time.

Don’t leave or store your Piccalio products outside. They are protected by a lacquer coating but are made of wood and are therefore susceptible to damage caused by exposure to rain and wet conditions.

We recommend keeping our wood products in dry, non-humid environments, and kept away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliances that produce heat.

The Play Table is made from sustainably sourced FSC® European solid beech wood. We use a 0-VOC water-based finish that is formaldehyde, phthalate, substances/lead free.
