Yes, we do. Our warranty covers the replacement or repair of any product that has a manufacturing or material defect that is not the result of normal wear and tear, or a natural characteristic of the material used. This warranty is not transferable, nor does it apply to goods that have been altered by the user in any way.

Yes. We know that the whole point of buying a quality piece of furniture is that it should last—so we support that with parts availability through our 3-year warranty.
If a component wears out, a bolt gets lost, or a part is damaged, reach out to our team at hello@piccalio.com with your order details and a photo of what you need. We'll do our best to get you the right part so the piece keeps going.
This matters especially for families using Piccalio pieces for multiple children over several years —knowing that a single worn rung or missing fastener doesn't mean replacing the whole piece is part of what makes heirloom furniture worth the investment.
Our 3-year warranty covers manufacturing and material defects—meaning anything that fails due to how the product was made, not due to normal wear and tear or modifications made after purchase.
The warranty is non-transferable, so it applies to the original purchaser. For full details, including coverage period and how to make a claim, visit our Warranty page.
We intentionally design our products to be safe and easy to repair, maximizing longevity so you can enjoy your piece for many years. If you're unsure whether something falls under warranty, just reach out—we'd rather err on the side of taking care of you than leave you wondering.
Lost, Stolen, Damaged
At Piccalio, quality and customer service are our top priorities. Although we do strive to provide the best quality in our products there can be defects that slip by us.
If you have received a defective item please report an issue through our Help Center within 7 business days from receiving the order. You will need to provide a photo of the damaged item and order number to help move the process along faster. Depending on the nature of the damage or defect, we will either replace one or more part(s) or send a replacement item.
If an order arrives damaged and if you are able to provide sufficient proof of this damage, please report an issue through our Help Center.
Sometimes an order will ship and the tracking shows that the order is stuck in a pending or "pre-shipment" status. Unfortunately, this happens from time to time due to carriers missing a scan. If you notice that the order has had 7 calendar days of inactivity in the same status please report an issue through our Help Center.
For international orders, if your order is without tracking movement for at least 21 days please report an issue through our Help Center. Please note, we are not able to help before the 21 days.
If the tracking information shows that the package was delivered, but you are unable to locate the package within 48 hours of the Delivered timestamp, we suggest to check the following:
- Verify the shipping address provided
- Look around the delivery location for your package (e.g. left outside a nearby apartment)
- Check your mailbox or mail storage room
- Ask if someone else in your household accepted the package on your behalf
Unfortunately, we are no longer able to refund or replace these "delivered but lost" orders because the carriers (FedEx, USPS, OnTrac etc.) no longer consider these items lost. There has been a large increase in fraud instances, and they are no longer honoring our claims, even if we provide customer complaints. Our hands are tied in this situation, as we have to follow the same rules of our carrier partners.
Piccalio is not responsible for any lost or stolen packages.
Please reach out to us within 7 business days of receiving your order through our Help Center. Include a photo of the damage or defect and your order number—this helps us move quickly. Depending on what we find, we'll either send a replacement part or a full replacement item.
Transit damage is handled the same way: if your item arrives damaged due to shipping, document it with photos and contact us through the Help Center. We'll take care of it.
We stand behind every piece we ship. Quality issues are rare, but when they do happen, fixing them is our priority—not our fine print.
Pre-order
For security purposes, we do not store credit card information. This means you will be charged at the time of purchase.
Yes, however please email us as soon as possible. If your order has started processing, we may not be able to cancel your order anymore.
Shipping times are updated regularly on the product page for all pre-orders. Reach out to us if you have any questions!
Discount and promotional codes
We are aware of marketing tactics such as promo codes that try to attract you to buy a product at a discounted price. We feel that is unethical and not in alignment with our goals. We’re able to provide the best prices and best value on our products every day, so we don’t offer specific coupon or discount codes.
Occasionally, we will offer a gift with your purchase. And if you are on Instagram - we will gift lucky winners our products year-round who join our Giveaways :)
Because we think it's more honest not to.
A lot of furniture brands inflate list prices so that sale prices feel like a deal. We'd rather set a fair price from the start—one that reflects the real cost of FSC©-certified wood, quality hardware, non-toxic finishes, and ethical manufacturing—and keep it there.
It also keeps the secondhand value of Piccalio products stable, which matters if you ever plan to resell. A piece that regularly goes on sale loses its market value quickly. A piece with a consistent price holds it.
Occasionally, we'll offer a gift with purchase or run a giveaway on Instagram. But the price you see is the honest price—and we think that's more respectful of your time than waiting for a sale that might not come.
If you're looking to save, we invite you to join Piccalio Points, our customer loyalty program. Through this program, you can earn points and save on your next purchase.
Product Information, Assembly
Use a damp, clean cloth to wipe the surfaces. Slight maintenance may be required over time.
Don’t leave or store your Piccalio products outside. They are protected by a lacquer coating but are made of wood and are therefore susceptible to damage caused by exposure to rain and wet conditions.
We recommend keeping our wood products in dry, non-humid environments, and kept away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliances that produce heat.
Playing should be safe — and we think parents deserve specifics, not just reassurances. Here's exactly what Piccalio's Safety Standards mean:
GREENGUARD Gold Certified: Our products meet some of the world's most stringent standards for chemical emissions and indoor air quality—specifically developed for products used by children and in schools. GREENGUARD Gold goes well beyond basic compliance.
ASTM Compliant: ASTM is a voluntary certification program that sets leading benchmarks in the United States for stability, durability, and child safety. All Piccalio pieces meet relevant ASTM standards that test for essential areas such as structural integrity, small parts, sharp edges, and more.
Prop 65 Compliant: We comply with California's Proposition 65, which requires businesses to provide warnings about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Our products comply, which means no such warning is required.
Formaldehyde-free and lead-safe: Formaldehyde levels in all Piccalio furniture are undetectable. No lead is used in any finish or paint.
Zero-VOC finishes: All paints and stains are water-based, acrylic, solvent-free, and non-toxic. This matters especially in small spaces where children play close to the floor and furniture surfaces.
FSC©-certified solid wood: We use birch, beech, and pine sustainably sourced from FSC©-certified forests—not MDF or particle board, which can off-gas harmful substances or wear out over time.
We use different types of FSC Certified wood - Birch, Beech, Pine. We import Pine from New Zealand, Beech from Romania and Germany, and Birch from Russia and Baltics.
Our products are all formaldehyde and lead safe; the formaldehyde level for all of our furniture is undetectable.
Additionally we use 0-VOC water-based, acrylic, solvent-free and non-toxic paints and stains.
You can find assembly instructions for all products here.
Most Piccalio products are designed to be assembled by one adult in under an hour—no professional tools or special skills required. Assembly instructions for every product are available on our Assembly Instructions page.
The Pikler Triangle and Toddler Tower typically take 30 to 45 minutes. The Floor Bed and larger shelving units may take a little longer. All hardware is included, and pieces are designed to go together intuitively—most parents find the process straightforward.
If you run into any issues during assembly, our team is available via email at hello@piccalio.com. We're happy to walk you through anything step by step.
About Piccalio
Piccalio is a kids' furniture brand built around a simple idea: children learn best when their environment is designed to support their independence, not just contain them.
Our pieces—Pikler Triangles, Toddler Towers, Floor Beds, Play Tables, and Toy Storage—are rooted in the Montessori philosophy. That means furniture is sized and positioned for children to use on their own terms, without needing an adult to hand things to them or lift them up. It means open-ended designs that grow with the child rather than becoming obsolete. And it means quality materials—FSC©-certified wood, zero-VOC finishes, GREENGUARD Gold certification—that parents can feel genuinely confident about.
Piccalio started because our founders were looking for furniture that felt like a real part of the home: beautiful, durable, not plastic. They couldn't find what they were looking for, so they built it. The brand’s pieces are designed in Venice Beach, California, with pieces crafted to the standard that earns a place in a family's home for years — and then holds its value when it's time to pass it on.
If you're beginning a Montessori-inspired setup and aren't sure where to start, we're happy to help. Reach out at hello@piccalio.com or browse our shop-by-age guide to find what fits your child's stage right now.
We are online and available to chat via live chat Monday - Friday from 10am - 5pm PST. You can send us a note at any time at hello@piccalio.com.
Our product line is designed by our team in Venice Beach, California and designers from all around the world. Currently we work with small factories in Asia and Europe to produce our products. They work under ethical working conditions and craftsmanship is a mix of new technology and classic hand detailing. We procure our materials from sustainable sources.
Playing should be fun. But also safe. Piccalio toys and furniture all have a children’s product certificate. They’re non-toxic, FSC certified wood, and compliant with ASTM, Prop65, and the FDA too. We never use harmful chemicals or substances in the making or manufacturing of our products.

Piccalio Shopping Tips
If you're just starting to build a Montessori-inspired space and want one piece that will grow with your child through the first few years, the Pikler Triangle is the most versatile starting point. It supports pulling up, cruising, climbing, and imaginative play—and it transitions from a movement tool in infancy to a climbing structure through toddlerhood and beyond.
For families with a kitchen helper mindset from early on, our Toddler Towers are also an excellent choice. They can be introduced from around 18 months and stay relevant well into early childhood.
The honest answer is: there's no wrong starting point. Every Piccalio piece is designed to do more than one thing across multiple stages of childhood. But if you're choosing just one, the Pikler Triangle and Toddler Towers have the longest useful life and the broadest developmental benefits.
Piccalio’s Toddler Towers are ideal for children from around 18 months through age 6 or so. Both our Foldable and Convertible Towers adjust to your child’s changing needs. The safety rail, which both models include, keeps your little one secure while still allowing free movement and the participation that makes the helper tower so valuable in a Montessori kitchen.
The Piccalio Foldable Toddler Tower is designed to grow with your child—adjusting to their height rather than becoming obsolete. The platform height is adjustable, so you can lower it as your child grows, keeping them at a comfortable working height at the kitchen counter. When not in use, the Foldable Tower folds flat—making it easy to tuck away in small kitchens or apartments without sacrificing counter access.
The Piccalio Convertible Toddler Tower is a multi-functional piece that serves as a tower and also transforms into a table and chair. After your child cooks, turn your tower into a table and chair so they can sit and enjoy their meal. The Convertible Tower features an adjustable step, which also changes the seat height of the chair.
Many families find their tower becomes a fixture in their kitchen for years, used daily for everything from meal prep to washing hands, baking together, and more.
Yes—and honestly, this is one of the things we hear most from families who've had Piccalio pieces for a few years. The adjustable, open-ended nature of most of our furniture means that a 2-year-old and a 5-year-old can often use the same piece in completely different ways, at the same time.
The Pikler Triangle is a great example: a younger toddler might be navigating the lower rungs while an older sibling uses the full climbing arc or drapes a blanket over it to create a fort. Another example is our Toddler Table & Reversible Chair Set. The chairs offer different seating heights so children of different ages can all sit comfortably. Plus, our floor bed transitions easily from a floor bed to a raised bed as the child grows.
If you're outfitting a home for multiple children of different ages, we're happy to help you think through which pieces will cover the most developmental ground—feel free to reach out at hello@piccalio.com.
Piccalio pieces are designed with exactly this in mind. Most of our pieces are sized and styled to live in shared spaces—living rooms, kitchens, primary bedrooms—not just in dedicated playrooms.
The neutral wood tones and clean silhouettes mean a Pikler Triangle or Table & Chair Set fit into a modern living room without feeling like a compromise. The Foldable Toddler Tower folds flat when not in use, making it easy to manage in a small kitchen. Our Montessori Toy Shelf and Toy Organizer offer open shelving that fosters independence. Yet they are also attractive designs that look beautiful in your home. Nothing is loud, plastic, or sized for a space you don't have.
If anything, we think the constraint of a small home is an asset: fewer, higher-quality pieces that do more, which is very much in the spirit of Montessori. A single well-chosen Piccalio piece in a small apartment often does more for a child's development than a playroom full of things that each serve only one purpose.
The Value of Piccalio
It depends on what you're comparing. On price alone, Amazon alternatives are often significantly cheaper upfront. But the things that drive Piccalio's pricing —sustainably sourced FSC©-Certified wood, zero-VOC finishes, GREENGUARD Gold certification, ASTM compliance, and real quality control—are things that simply don't exist at that price point.
The more useful comparison is the total cost of ownership. Most Piccalio pieces are designed to be used from infancy through early childhood and then passed to a sibling or resold. We back up our commitment to quality with a 3-year warranty. Alternative products may not be built to last and often offer a 1-year warranty at most.
The other factor is indoor air quality and chemical exposure. Budget Montessori-style furniture often uses MDF or particle board with formaldehyde-containing binders and finishes that don't meet VOC standards. Piccalio's finishes are formaldehyde-free and low-VOC, which matters especially in small spaces where children spend a lot of time close to the floor.
If you're budget-limited, consider purchasing one well-made Piccalio piece instead of several cheaper ones. The Toddler Tower and Pikler Triangle tend to outlast, outperform, and outvalue most multi-piece alternatives.
All of these are thoughtful brands making real wood kids' furniture, and we have a lot of respect for what they do. Here's how Piccalio differs:
- On design: Piccalio leans toward a cleaner, more minimalist aesthetic—pieces that feel at home in a modern living room rather than a dedicated playroom. If you want furniture that doubles as décor in a design-conscious space, Piccalio tends to be the choice.
- On certifications and materials: Piccalio holds GREENGUARD Gold certification across its line, which is one of the more stringent indoor air quality standards for children's products. We use FSC©-certified wood throughout and zero-VOC, solvent-free finishes. Additionally, we opt in to voluntary third-party testing to ensure stability and quality through companies like ASTM, Intertek, SGS, and more.
- On product versatility and intention: Piccalio's range is intentionally focused—a smaller number of defining, versatile pieces rather than a broad catalog. This means each piece has been more thoroughly considered for how it grows with the child and fits into a real home.
The best way to compare is to look at what you actually need. If you want a highly specific product that one of these brands does better for your situation, we understand. But for families prioritizing design, non-toxic materials, and long-term value, Piccalio is built for that.
They serve genuinely different purposes, so it's less an either/or and more a question of what stage you're at.
Subscription services like Lovevery and KiwiCo are excellent at providing rotating, age-appropriate toys and activities—they're especially useful in the first year or two when children move through developmental stages quickly and benefit from fresh stimulation.
Piccalio is for the furniture layer: the pieces that define the physical environment rather than the rotating activity layer. A Pikler Triangle, Toddler Tower, Floor Bed, or Play Table are items your child uses daily for years—they become part of the home. They don’t rotate out. That's a different kind of value than a subscription box provides.
For families who want to simplify over time, many find that as their child gets older, fewer rotating toys and more open-ended environment pieces (like a climbing structure or a well-organized shelf) serve them better than continuing a subscription. But the two can absolutely coexist, especially in the early years.
